Parent Involvement

Your parents have been very supportive of your development as a basketball player. Often they are extremely knowledgeable about basketball and may even coach. For the reasons previously mentioned, we need a uniform style of play to be successful. Therefore, please ask your parents to refrain from coaching in the stands during a game. It often serves to confuse players and create uneasy situations. It is always uncomfortable for a coach to remove a player from a game because she is listening to parental advice rather than fulfilling the expectations of the coach.

Parents are encouraged to contribute to the team by keeping stats, score, graphing shots, bringing snacks and drinks to tournaments, etc.

Any major issues that parents have regarding ALM coaching should be brought to the attention of the directors of ALM and not the individual coach.
