Melissa Thrash

Melissa Thrash graduated from Frenship High School outside of Lubbock, Texas. She played shooting guard on the Varisty team all four years of high school. After graduation she headed to Baylor Univeristy in Waco, Texas where she earned a BS in Education.

Thrash coached high school basketball for the next seven years including three years at Clear Creek High School in Houston, Texas. Melissa led her Clear Creek Varisty team to the Bi-District playoffs, while coaching her Junior Varsity team to a two season combined record of 46-3. She coached one of these talented players to a second place finish in the Houston Rockets 3-point Shoot-out. Melissa also works camps every summer for Baylor and Texas A&M. She is currently employed by Pflugerville ISD as a teacher and coach at Dessau Middle School.

Coach Thrash pushes her girls to play aggressive defense with a tough full court press. She emphasizes a high tempo game which forces all of her players to work hard individually and as a team. Melissa is also committed to helping young athletes grow as individuals by showing them the parallels between the game of basketball and life.
