Damont Jones

Damont began his basketball career at the tender age of 7.  His passion and commitment to the sport would later reward him a nomination to the McDonalds All-American team in 2000.  Damont went on to begin his collegiate career with the Roadrunners of UT San Antonio and later transferred to NAIA Division 1 program Huston-Tillotson University.  While completing his B.A in Psychology, he helped HTU to their first NAIA Elite 8 appearance in school history and was named Red River Conference “New Comer of the Year” in 2003, and named to the “All Conference” team in 2004 and 2005.  He’s continued his playing career traveling the globe and through various semi-professional teams in U.S.

Damont has coached in numerous camps over the years as well as volunteering with the S.A. Bulls Basketball Club in San Antonio, conducting 1-on-1 training sessions regularly and passing on his knowledge and passion for the sport to any child who is willing to learn.  He currently works in Financial Planning, Insurance and Investments with American Financial Group (GAFRI, Inc) when he’s not training or playing basketball himself.
