AMANDA MAYS
Amanda started her basketball career right here in Austin at Reagan High School, where she received honors as 2nd team All District and lst Team All Academic Team. After graduation from Reagan in 1995 she received a basketball scholarship to Odessa Junior College and started her college career.
She left Odessa and played for 1 year at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. She then moved to Southwestern University in Waxahachie, TX, south of Dallas, to finish her college career. While playing her last 2 years at Southwestern she earned lst Team All-Conference NAIA and All American awards. She stayed at Southwestern as an assistant coach to gain coaching experience, specializing in post play and shooting technique.
After graduation from college she stayed in the Dallas area and was a Head Coach for 2 years at a Dallas area high school. Amanda spent the past four years as a teacher and coach in Round Rock ISD where she coached at both the middle school and high school level. She believes in a strong foundation of fundamentals and team work.
